To help individuals age gracefully and avoid facial wrinkles and lines from occurring on the top portion of the face, 785 Aesthetic Med Spa in Salina, KS is pleased to offer BOTOX® and Dysport®. These injectable treatments offer outstanding results and are very common among both women and men. They can make a significant improvement to dynamic lines, which are made from expressive movement with the contracting muscles on the forehead and around the eyes. These facial lines go away when the face is relaxed, but static lines can still remain.
Botox and Dysport are both neuromodulators that temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles. They are a purified form of botulinum toxin type A that works by blocking the nerve signals that tell the muscles to contract. This helps to smooth out existing wrinkles and prevent new ones from forming. Botox and Dysport injections are most commonly administered between the eyebrows, around the eyes (Crow’s feet), and across the forehead.
The Benefits
There are a number of benefits associated with Botox and Dysport injections, making them some of our most popular aesthetic treatments. Some of these benefits include:
- They can eliminate common signs of the aging process, including deep wrinkles and fine lines.
- They pair well with other treatments, including dermal fillers, to achieve personalized results.
- When administered by a skilled provider, they are a safe and gentle way to achieve your aesthetic goals.
- Injection treatment and recovery time is minimal
- You may see results in a few days, with continued improvement over the next couple of weeks.
Choosing Between Botox and Dysport
Both Botox and Dysport are effective for treating wrinkles, but there are some subtle differences. Dysport tends to spread a little more than Botox, making it a good choice for treating larger areas. Botox may be a better option for smaller, more targeted areas. During your consultation, our experienced team will discuss your individual needs and help you decide which product is right for you.
Additional Uses
While Botox and Dysport are commonly known throughout the aesthetic industry for helping to reduce and smooth away lines, they are also used for medical conditions. Listed below are some of the reasons why an individual may receive a Botox or Dysport injection for reasons other than cosmetic:
- Treatment of TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder): Botox or Dysport can help relieve jaw pain and muscle tension associated with TMJ.
- Migraine Management: Injections can help reduce the frequency and severity of chronic migraines.
- Hyperhidrosis Treatment: Botox and Dysport can effectively reduce excessive sweating in areas like the underarms, palms, and feet.
- Muscle Spasm Control: They can help control muscle spasms and involuntary movements, such as eye twitching (blepharospasm) or facial tics.
At our Salina, KS practice, we offer Botox and Dysport for cosmetic improvements, as well as to help treat TMJ and migraines.

Ideal Candidates
Botox and Dysport injections are great for patients who wish to soften the visible look of dynamic lines and wrinkles on their upper face without the need for surgery. Botox and Dysport can also be used as a preventive anti-aging treatment, even if you do not show signs of aging — keep in mind how often you find yourself making facial expressions. It’s a terrific noninvasive treatment if you are frustrated by forehead wrinkles or parallel lines between the brows. It is also a solution for lines around the eyes.
Procedure Technique
Botox and Dysport treatments are available as an outpatient procedure conveniently at 785 Aesthetic Med Spa. If it is your first time visiting our office, we commonly perform the treatment on the same day as your initial consultation with one of our injectable providers.
During your consultation, we will discuss your aesthetic goals and assess your facial anatomy. You will be asked to make a few expressions using your upper face, like frowning, squinting, and smiling, to help us determine where the injections are best placed.
The treatment area will be cleansed, and a topical numbing cream can be applied to enhance your comfort, though it is usually unnecessary as the injections are relatively painless. Then, your injector will use a fine needle to precisely administer Botox or Dysport into the targeted muscles.
Botox and Dysport treatments typically take around 10–15 minutes, and there is no required recovery period. You can resume your normal daily activities immediately following the injections.
What To Expect
Following your Botox or Dysport treatment, you can return to your normal daily routine. However, we recommend avoiding strenuous activity for at least 24 hours.
Here are some things you can expect:
- Minimal Downtime: There is no required downtime after the injections.
- Temporary Side Effects: You may experience some temporary redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection sites. These side effects are usually mild and subside within a few days.
- Avoid Touching: It’s best to avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for a few hours after the injections to prevent the spread of Botox or Dysport to other muscles.
- Results: You may start to see initial results within a few days, with full effects typically appearing within two weeks.
- Longevity: The results of Botox and Dysport usually last around 3–4 months.
- Maintenance: To maintain your results, we recommend scheduling follow-up appointments with your injector at 785 Aesthetic Med Spa.
